Clean slate

I had plans but HE snapped it all
I laddered up just to see the sky fall

 Made my way up the mountains; came down with the landslide
Built a hut in the woods but HE bolted it from the inside

 The pages of the book I read revealed a different story
HE altered the ingredients of my favorite dish and he wasn't even sorry

 The boat which lay stranded for years was seen floating adrift
the weight on my shoulders; I sensed it shift

 HE pierced my walls and shattered my fences
unlocked my chains and awakened my senses

 All my life I've done nothing but blame my fate
but every single time HE provided me with a clean slate.

  Have you ever wondered why you encounter  the question "what do you do?" more than "how do you do? " (Maybe an Indian thing of poking one's nose into another's life). If you are a married woman and a mother at that, you will get this question more often. I have been fiddling with this  question for so many years now until one day the realization finally dawned upon me.  It is hard to keep up with the societal standards. It is harder to meet people's expectation about you. And the hardest part is answering the million dollar question 'what do you do?'   Well, it may sound a bit vague but the real intended question here is, how is your career graph going? Are we the darkness?

Are we the darkness shrouding the entire world? dragging it on with a harness; violently thrashed and hurled. What we claim to have created has been tilted and tossed, our priorities still unsorted, deadly lines we have crossed. Now we are too broke to undo the menace we have unclasped; No roads to salvation with the curses we have grasped. And we weep for ourselves  and worry for what time beholds. It's time to tidy up our shelves  and see how the next chapter unfolds.

Flipping the pages of my old crumbled notebook I found those scrawny jokers embellishing my crabbed hand resurrecting old memories in my mind. We were best friends; perhaps born 'besties' "Un-goggled" nerds shouting out answers From the back bench; pushed to the corner By a fatso, engulfing two third of the area -a loner.
