Reality unveiled





Living in a camouflage
with a fake name and fame
raising up a selfish mind
too proud, untamed.

Flying on inflated hopes
forgetting the silly past
Clinging on to desires
in-numerous  and vast.

Free falling into the ground
Recovering from the 'deadly pride'
with  dreams blown up
going down with the tide.

Killing the precious years
labeling self as special
reality unveiled;
now just a worm in its shell.

Crying a river of regrets
eyes glistening with shame.
In the world of equals,
 now just another name.

  Have you ever wondered why you encounter  the question "what do you do?" more than "how do you do? " (Maybe an Indian thing of poking one's nose into another's life). If you are a married woman and a mother at that, you will get this question more often. I have been fiddling with this  question for so many years now until one day the realization finally dawned upon me.  It is hard to keep up with the societal standards. It is harder to meet people's expectation about you. And the hardest part is answering the million dollar question 'what do you do?'   Well, it may sound a bit vague but the real intended question here is, how is your career graph going? Are we the darkness?

Are we the darkness shrouding the entire world? dragging it on with a harness; violently thrashed and hurled. What we claim to have created has been tilted and tossed, our priorities still unsorted, deadly lines we have crossed. Now we are too broke to undo the menace we have unclasped; No roads to salvation with the curses we have grasped. And we weep for ourselves  and worry for what time beholds. It's time to tidy up our shelves  and see how the next chapter unfolds.

Flipping the pages of my old crumbled notebook I found those scrawny jokers embellishing my crabbed hand resurrecting old memories in my mind.
