Liberty: From I to We

Countless years, we spent hiding in caves

crushing our will, working like slaves;
with an eternal dream of being free
and to roar like the endless sea.

Imprisoned by those autocratic rules

we choked in injustice, like fools
tied within the pricking fences
we dared not to take any chances.

All those years spent in pain,

trying in vain to remain sane;
striving hard to break those chains
marching through the forbidden lanes.

Our hopes did bloom

breaking the fear flooded tombs
we fought, lacing hands in hands
spilling blood throughout the lands.

Now, here we stand,

in the breathing sands of 'our land'
Unleashing our entangled feelings-
which were lost in search of its meanings.

We wave our flags, high in the sky;

we breathe fearless, no more we sigh.
we paid a price,  just to be free
butchered the power of 'I' and it scattered to 'WE'
