Listen

I sense my words leave - the tip of my tongue; out my mouth And into the air But I doubt if they ever reach your ear. I let you hop on to my words and take you inside my mind but you couldn't even recollect anything you've seen 'cause it's in your own world-  you've always been. I want to talk  about nothing and everything maybe it doesn't concern you at all; But all I want is you to listen! and if you don't, I'll put my words in prison.

Let go

The more I tried to hold on to it, the more it kept slipping through my fingers; my hands covered with blemishes As I tried to redeem it from the embers. I shut my eyes tight when it dropped and shattered into a million pieces slashing my skin and awakening old scars and my life was left with new holes  and creases. I didn't peg it for a tempest when it embraced me like a gentle breeze; Gouging painful voids in my heart And leaving me in the cold to freeze. So I stopped banging on the cold doors, Which were shut right on my face . I was done running and chasing and I let go of it, like it was just another phase.

She

The one who bore me; Willingly bearing with me; My teacher: the first and the best Who toughened me up to face the worst When I ran upto her with brimming eyes; complaining of how the world wasn't nice, She chose to be an honest guide  Rather than holding her arms out wide. From her womb to this world  I have lived, loved and learned  I owe her for all that I am today forever as hers will I ever stay

Like every daughter does; I love my father thus

I wonder what you felt when you held me for the first time but the moment our eyes met all I wished to say was "long time!" I grew up in your shade to become your own shadow you let me wander in your corridor and I saw the world through your window Your words that found my ears; I wore them like a crown I pursued your foot steps and now I'm the way you had walked on I am the restless waves finding solace on your shore you being there like a radiant sun there's nothing more I could wish for
